media cabinet gets to roll

Just finished adding caster to the media cabinet -

now easy to clean the backside/floor and do cable management from back.

Glass doors

Final update on both the shelfs - Glass doors attached.

just to organize gramaphone, pc , wii and add the PS3 .Also to replace the TV.
Done with this and back to the remaining 2 more pending shelfs.

The Sats and Sundays - still.. over 6 months now!

Few of my weeks went with C&C kane's warth, Crysis warhead and Fear, and now back with some small progess -
as on 25th Oct 08 (framing the edges done - breach wood)

2 drawers where nailed improperly - no right angles, so had to fill up the gaps using saw dust+glue, so that the laminates are flat againt the edges/frame. 6 mm sheet used for inner shelf , will primarly hold Receiver,Dvd,VCR, Gramaphone and others. Yet to make the cable manger holes and ties.

yet to finish with the sliding Glass shutters (will take up when entertainment shelf is done)

as on 27th Jan 09 -paint work still not cured - need to finish with the locks,footers,handles,cable orginsers and Glass shutters.

Here we go, with the initial cutting (had avlb sheets in these size)

nailed and finished sanding - testing for lids movement - and yes the hole is for cable management inside the box

the small section will be nailed to the wall (5-6 nails should do the job for holding even the heaviest sharp projectors) while the other section slides into this

I just realize ,my hobby which started for The Saturdays and the Sundays , actually became - monday night and tuesday morning, tuesday night and wed morning ... . anyway, these work do not need any cutting and hammering, so was able to continue during these time. here are the photos taken in october.

1st coat of Victorian Wisp done.

The laminates arrived a week back , cut to shape, for bookshelf and media cabinet- tops and the drawers fronts.
Progress as on 9th October, 2008 - sorry, a minor disaster , no progress.

i guess i missed the photos - could not locate the memory stick , else , will be taking another snap and update ( udadated ).

This sheet has disintegrated/multiplied/broke/made me angry!

Progress as on 12th October, 2008 - sorry, a BIG disaster , but some progress.

First - The progress - lamination completely done - and the pending work is gaps filling ,2nd/final coat for paint for the outside ( other than the laminated sides ofcourse) - i.e the back and the bottom and the legs/bushes.
And here is the DISASTER.

getting ready for the beading for bookshelf - opted for breach wood instead of teak, as breach wood felt softer to work with, while some of teak beading used to break ( chunks) while planning - but anyway, it looks light and good.
